Allegations about federal Labor MP Belinda Neal's "menacing" behaviour are a matter for the Liberal Party to pursue, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says.
Federal Liberal deputy leader Julie Bishop yesterday gave details of two encounters she said Ms Neal - cleared this week of her role in the so-called Iguanagate scandal - had had with Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson during the past week.
In one incident, Ms Neal was "menacing in her tone", Ms Bishop said.
She said it was clear the counselling the prime minister had ordered Ms Neal undertake had failed to yield the desired result.
Mr Rudd said Ms Neal had undertaken counselling.
"She has subjected herself to the counselling which I required of her some months ago," he said.
"All members of parliament have to conduct ourselves in the type of behaviour which is acceptable to the community."
But Mr Rudd said the Liberals could advance the allegations however they wanted politically.
"I'm sure it will be completely impartial in the way in which it is put into the debate," he told Sky News today.
