Injury to rule Johnson out of Warriors clash

Melbourne lock Dallas Johnson is unlikely to play in this weekend’s clash with the Warriors after being diagnosed with a grade two medial ligament strain.

Johnson left the field with the knee injury in the final moments of Melbourne’s 42-4 thrashing of South Sydney on Monday night, and could now miss up to four weeks.

Mary Toomey, manager of the Storm’s High Performance Unit, said the injury was towards the lower end of a grade two strain.

“The normal recovery time for this type of injury can be up to four weeks, but we don’t think it’s going to take that long in this instance,” said

“We’ll do everything we can to have Dallas back for this weekend’s game, but it’s more likely he’ll be available for any games we may play after that.”

The Storm are guaranteed to still be alive after Sunday afternoon’s clash after finishing the season as minor premiers.
