Two men in hospital after shooting in Sydney's west

Two men are in hospital after a suspected home invasion in Sydney's west.

Police and ambulance crews were called to a Bankstown home on Wattle Street following reports that shots had been fired indoors. 

One man suffered gun shot wounds to the stomach and leg.

Witnesses told police two men fled the scene on foot.

Bankstown Local Area Command, together with Polair, the dog squad and operational support group are searching the set perimeter.

Forensic examiners will examine the established crime scene.
