Paramedics are being assured their concerns will be listened too, as the NSW Government tries to diffuse threats of strike action from Friday.
Ambulance officers voted last night to only respond to life threatening calls unless problems with the service are fixed and a wage dispute resolved.
Health Minister John Della Bosca says he'll sit down with union officials shortly.
“We’re talking about very hard working professional people who dedicate their lives to helping others, and it’s very important that they’re supported by good policies.
“Where there’s deficiencies, where there’s under staffing, where there’s things we need to do – I’m committed to addressing those things.”
