Angry ambos threaten strike action

16/09/2008 9:12:00 AM.  | Gillian Cannon
Paramedics are being assured their concerns will be listened too, as the NSW Government tries to diffuse threats of strike action from Friday.

Ambulance officers voted last night to only respond to life threatening calls unless problems with the service are fixed and a wage dispute resolved.

Health Minister John Della Bosca says he'll sit down with union officials shortly.

“We’re talking about very hard working professional people who dedicate their lives to helping others, and it’s very important that they’re supported by good policies.

“Where there’s deficiencies, where there’s under staffing, where there’s things we need to do – I’m committed to addressing those things.”

This fromthe same Man who knows a report is telling him the state has to have more Childrens Hospitals/Funding, wont act until a report is "officially" handed over. The same bloke who put his hand up for $ to do his Job. I wouldnt hold my breath, waiting for him to do anything, other than collect his paypacket and grub out his Pollies superpacket. Just another GRUB sitting in power in NSW!.

may I suggest " simultaneous Resignations, to begin Forthwith ". Then the Bloody Government may actually hear you. So far, the Ambos have had a strike, ordered back to work, got nothing because the ministers said they couldnt find the funds. If you all resign, then you cant be ordered back to work. When the Govt asks you to come back, put it in writing the terms and conditions. the govt. may have to forestall their RISE so as to afford to get you all back, but they will try. They'll hear you !
