Blind dates can be a little awkward at the best of times, but when you're 51, your date is Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic and you've paid $1,631 for the privilege, well... it doesn't help.
The Sydney beauty auctioned herself off for a date with the highest bidder, to raise money for The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Putting herself on the line on eswap.com.au, an online auction site run by champion tennis player Lleyton Hewitt, Dundovic started out at $1, but hit a top $1631 at the end of the session.
"It's a bit exciting to be auctioned off as a date but it's been three years since I last went on one, so I have high expectations and am expecting to get swept off my feet" Dundovic told News Limited.
