The Premier has hit back at accusations he turned a blind eye to suspicions he had relating to former boss Milton Orkopoulos.
Former Labor MP Paul O'Grady claims Nathan Rees asked him on three occasions about Orkopoulos's erratic behaviour, but didn't persue the matter because of political ambitions.
"Nathan raised the issue with me on at least two, if not three, occasions,'' Mr O'Grady told News Ltd.
"He said: `What's going on with Milton?'
"I said to him, 'As someone who wants to be a (political) candidate, do you think that's an intelligent question to ask?'
"I don't know (how much he knew) because I didn't encourage the conversation."
But Mr Rees insists he was unaware of Orkopoulos's crimes.
"What I do know is if I'd had any inkling of that bloke's evil, dark secrets his feet wouldn't have touched the ground as I dragged him to the police station."
