Independent candidate Clover Moore has been elected Lord Mayor of Sydney for a second term after winning a thumping majority in local elections.
A town crier was on the steps of the city's Town Hall as the clock chimed 10am (AEST) today, to announce the result of the mayoral vote and the vote for councillors.
Ms Moore won the mayoral race with 66 per cent of the vote in the election on September 13, a total of 34,085 votes.
No challenger garnered more than 15 per cent of the vote.
