Sunday keeps sinking Seven

23/09/2008 12:15:00 PM.  | Tim Brunero
Sunday nights have turned out to be the Achilles heal of the Seven network with their previously unbeatable boogie contest Dancing With The Stars taking another pummeling.

The show was only the tenth most watched of the night with 1.1 million viewers.  And the Jamie Durie hosted The Outdoor Room didn’t hit a high note either attracting only 920,000.

Over at Ten teenage karaoke comp Australian Idol was carrying a stronger tune featuring as it did international artist Cyndi Lauper as a guest judge on the show.

The program managed to attract 1.3 million viewers which will arrest for now accusations the aging Reality TV juggernaut is flagging and may soon go the way of its sister show Big Brother.

Nine was also on firm ground with 60 Minutes pulling a solid 1.3 million and garden makeover show Battlefronts getting 1.2 million.

The ABC had a bit of good news as well with four programs in the top 12 including over a million viewers for Doctor Who.

However it wasn’t all bad news for Seven with the Sunday six o’clock news taking out the evening as most watching program with 1.4 million viewers.

Overall Nine took the night with 25.6 per cent of audience share, Ten nabbed second with  24.7 per cent, Seven got thrid with 22.9 per cent and Aunty managed a respectable fourth with 21.4 per cent.

Shame about 'Outdoor Room', considering their budget for it must be quite extensive.
