Robert Mugabe calls for removal of sanctions

26/09/2008 7:53:00 AM.  | AAP
Zimbabwe's president is lashing out at Western powers, and accusing them of genocide and mass destruction.

Robert Mugabe also has called for the removal of United States and British sanctions in a speech to the UN General Assembly.

The sanctions, targeting individuals and companies seen to be supporting Mugabe's regime, were tightened after elections this spring that were widely viewed as a sham.

Mugabe is supposed to cede some of the powers he's wielded for nearly three decades in the southern African country, under a power-sharing deal signed earlier this month with his rivals.

What a moron this man is. Yes! We should lift the sanctions straight after we hung him on a first tree. He has nothing to offer to Zimbabwe.
