Kylie Minogue targeted by terrorists

29/09/2008 2:07:00 PM.  | Tim Brunero

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue is worried about a terrorist attack at her upcoming Middle East concert.

The 40-year-old is currently dealing with the fallout from news that her performance at the world’s most expensive party, the opening of Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, could be the subject of an al-Qaeda attack.

The hotel, smack bang in the centre of the volatile Middle East region, is seen by religious extremists as a symbol of Western decadence and British spies have picked up internet chatter that the hotel may the subject of an attack.

Intelligence operatives are reportedly tracking a number of suspects who pose a credible threat to the building and the people at the party.

A fresh security alert has been ordered in the United Arab Emirates and the British Foreign Office has set their threat warning for the area at high.

?Minogue is due to perform before Hollywood stars, billionaire businessmen and heads of state on Novermber 20.  She will be paid $4.6 million.

The $1.7 billion hotel is build on a giant man made island and its 46 hectares includes a man made reef with 65,000 sea creatures on show, water parks and a 1539-room hotel.
