TV dog put down

29/09/2008 3:39:00 PM.  | Tim Brunero
Cringeworthy dating show Taken Out has been dumped by Channel Ten leaving host James Kerley looking for work.

The show, launched at the start of September, featured 30 single women in a garish set who had to declare their willingness or otherwise to date a lone single man by either turning a light on above their head or not.

The girls would get to vote with their lights after progressively learning more about each suitor.

Eventually the contestant would pick three girls from the group left and choose one to ‘Take Out'.

The series also promised to reverse the sexes.

However poor ratings and the show’s move from a 7pm to 6pm timeslot meant many predicted the show would eventually be axed.

YAY, YAY, YAY, YAY!!! I've been waiting for this news since I saw the first ad for this show. I never watched an episode because it looked so utterly pitiful and after sitting through the last few minutes of one episode that ran a bit late I'll be forever glad that I didn't waste my time night after night. Bye bye and good riddance Taken Out.
