Malcolm Turnbull and his wife Lucy have given a rare insight into their very public 'private lives' - revealing some hidden skills.

In a joint interview with 2GB’s Chris Smith, the couple has spoken of how they met, how they find time in their schedules to have a normal life.

“He’s actually a pretty good cook,” she said.

“He doesn’t have a wide repertoire, but what he can cook he does incredibly well.

But the newly installed leader of the opposition was quick to counter the backhanded compliment.

“That’s an understatement,” he said.

“I’m [also] pretty good at ironing shirts.”

“He is a much better shirt-ironer than I am,” Lucy conceded.

Like everything Malcolm does ... it's all smoke and mirrors! They have a cook and a maid, and someone to iron the shirts. I mean you would if you had his dosh. Don't have a problem with that. But this is part of the strategy to make him look like he understands the "working families" that won Labor the election ... he can't win the next election with all the blue Libs, such as the ones that continue to write in these blogs convinced they will trick swinging voters next time around :-)

Malcolm has a butler, I am sure his name is Geeves, for his harbor-side mansion. Malcolm knows a lot about working families, because he employees a working-class man, on a casual basis, to clean the Roller. (Geeves is far too refined to be judged as "working class".)

Traci Fawcett-Rudd’s electioneering lies are already coming back to bite him. 'Working Families' indeed - he has been going around practically telling the Commercial Banks that it will be all right if they don't pass on any interest rate cuts by the RBA.Rudd has squibbed on all his major election promises. Education revolution-States cannot afford the Computers. Industrial Relations-the Unions are not happy-they want more power. Climate change-Ross Garnaut is now advising that our cuts would be meaningless if the rest of the World did not cut emissions-Rudd said that he was going to go it alone-Kyoto and all that nonsense. Rudd is a FAKE. Turnbull is the genuine article.

Why would 'working families' abandon their Leader after all he has delived to them?

Dilusional Traci, you need to accept that Rudd has "a cook and a maid, and someone to iron the shirts", Rudd doesn't "understand working families" - he's done absolutley nothing for them since taking office, and he still hasn't learnt that families that don't work (ie pensioners) are probably more important anyway. And by the way, the only person that "tricked swinging voters" was Rudd and the Labor spin machine in Nov 07 (the same people that duped NSW voters months earlier). We've woken up.

Gee, I wasnt aware that if you learnt to Iron a shirt or Cook a meal, you suddenly became " working class"? Tracy, do you know the Turnbull Family? Or are you just Surmising he has hired help because IF you had all his Money you would? Strange that people think they Know so much about a persons private life? Even more so tyhat one can be classed in the "working family " bracket for Ironing. Turnbull wasnt handed his money Tracey, He worked for it.( may have screwed a few over, but worked for it

One really was hoping for something of a higher standard. If the Liberals are happy with cheap stunts from their leader, they could well have stuck with Nelson. This is such an obviously staged stunt that it merely makesTurnbull look ridiculous.

Mick S, -Have you checked out Rudd’s stunts?- Would be world statesman-nuclear disarmament, Asia bloc, going it alone on Climate change, addressing the UN on the World's credit problems, 2020 summit and dubious stories about his childhood life on a farm etc.etc.

Micks, Rudd is the "cheap stunt" expert, and you're the bunny for getting sucked in.
