Another NSW doctor is being investigated for alleged sexual assault and medical negligence against 10 patients.
Roman Hasil, who worked at Lismore Base Hospital for four years from 2001, was trained overseas.
NSW Health Minister John Della Bosca says while the case is very concerning, the system has been tightened up to prevent this sort of case happening again.
“I need to point out he’s no longer employed, in fact, he’s no longer liscnesed to practice medicine in New South Wales,” he told LIVENEWS.com.au.
“Substantial improvements have been made to the way in which the Department of Health investigates and assesses particular applicants… who have served substantially or qualified overseas.”
However Mr Della Bosca conceded the number and nature of the complaints make the case a real worry.
"It's very concerning when patients feel they haven't received care that's up to standard, or worse," he said.
The doctor is now living in a homeless shelter in Sydney.
