Man charged over nightclub shooting

6/10/2008 12:21:00 PM.  | AAP
A 31-year-old man faces charges for a shooting incident outside a Perth nightclub Sunday morning.

It is alleged the man was thrown out of the club in Joondalup by security staff after an altercation. He then took out a .25 calibre pistol he was hiding in his pants.

Police say he fired three shots towards the front of the club, ran off and was chased and arrested by security officers.

The man is in hospital for wounds he inflicted while being arrested and will appear at a bedside hearing Monday at Royal Perth hospital.

The manager of the club and another man were hit by debris but did not need medical help.

The accused was charged with intent to harm and possessing an unlicensed firearm.
