Ricky-Lee's exit turned Young Divas 'bitchy'

6/10/2008 6:40:00 AM.  | LIVENEWS.com.au
Australian Idol co-host and former Young Diva Ricki-Lee Coulter has denied claims by Jessica Mauboy that her exit from the group led to the remaining members “hating each other”.

Mauboy, a former Idol runner-up and Young Divas group member, said the remaining three members of the group turned on each other when Ricki-Lee left to begin her own solo career.

“When Ricki left, there was something crazy going on. They hated each other,” Mauboy told News Ltd.

“They were upset. She left the three of them on their own.”

But Ricki-Lee, who has returned to Idol as a host this year, said the group never had a long-term future.

“The Young Divas was supposed to be four solo artists who came together for a tour, then went back to their solo careers,” Coulter told News.

“People want to say we were bitchy and hated each other but, really, I knew I couldn’t do the Young Divas and my solo career at the same time.”

Good on Rickie lee she has class and a great voice, the other girls were just being bitchy because she left them she should have gone further in the Idol show she was in a far better voice than a lot of the others
