Cayless to lead New Zealand World Cup squad

Parramatta's Nathan Cayless will captain the New Zealand squad named today for the rugby league World Cup in Australia starting this month.

Cayless takes over from the injured and unavailable Roy Asotasi.

The Kiwis squad includes centre Steve Matai from the new NRL champions Manly and four players from beaten NRL grand finalists Melbourne - Adam Blair, Jeff Lima, Jeremy Smith and Sika Manu.

There are six players from the New Zealand Warriors side that made the NRL preliminary finals before losing to Manly - Nathan Fien, Lance Hohaia, Simon Mannering, Sam Rapira, Jerome Ropati and Manu Vatuvei.
