Harry Kewell has not been named in the Socceroos squad for next week’s World Cup qualifier against Qatar in Brisbane, while Tim Cahill and Lucas Neill will joined the squad.
Kewell is out injured with a groin strain, after missing the last match for his Turkish club Galatasaray.
While Kewell was not included in the squad, Verbeek still thought the attacking midfielder had a slight chance of playing next week.
"At this moment, it's pretty much about 10 per cent, but 10 per cent is still a possibility," Verbeek said of Kewell.
Mark Bresciano, Vincenzo Grella have also missed the squad through injury.
Cahill returns from injury and will represent his country for the first time since February, while Celtic striker Scott McDonald also returns to the side.
Queensland Roar Captain Craig Moore is back in the squad after coming back from international retirement.
Sydney FC’s Stuart Musialik will have a chance to make his senior international debut, while Adelaide United quartet of Eugene Galekovic, Robert Cornthwaite, Scott Jamieson and Paul Reid have all been included.
