Kiwi-born singer Madam Parker was eliminated from Australian Idol last night in a shock result after bookies had predicted Thanh Bui would face the elimination uppercut.
Parker, who sang Dancing Queen as part of the ABBA themed evening, was joined in the bottom three with solid performer Chrislyn Hamilton the Sri-Lankan born Roshani Priddis who was adopted by an Australian family at six weeks.
Sadly the death of former Australian Idol contestant Levi Kereama cast a shadow over last night’s show with Parker telling LIVENEWS.com.au it had affected everyone involved with the program.
“Look everyone on the team has the deepest feelings for the family and deepest condolences… it is such a tragedy man and everyone felt that emotion,” said Parker.
Meanwhile bookies are split on who will go next week.
Lasseters Sportsbook have predicted blonde bombshell Sophie Paterson will be boned listing her as $3.00 favourite to go with Thanh Bui not far behind on $4.00 despite his acclaimed performance of the ABBA classic The Winner Takes It All.
Lasseters obviously believe Paterson will pay for her brave choice on Sunday to re-arrange her ABBA track, which may have paid larger dividends was she a contestant on American Idol.
While picking Thanh Bui as favourite to be punted next week fellow online bookmaker Sportingbet Australia agrees with Lasseters over who will take out the competition.
Both sites are supporting Bondi rocker Wes Carr with Sportingbet putting him on the shortest odds ever for an Australian Idol contestant at this stage of the competition.
