Interference from lap tops and mobile phones has been all but ruled out as the cause of Qantas mid air emergency on Tuesday.
74 passengers and crew were injured when a Qantas Airbus A330-300 from Singapore to Perth made two dramatic dives mid-flight, dropping hundreds of metres in seconds.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with a search of the aircraft revealing extensive damage from human bodies inside the cabin.
A glitch in the aircraft auto pilot and computer systems is said to be the most likely cause.
Julian Walsh from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau says it appears laptops and mobile phones are not to blame.
“There is no evidence at this stage to indicate that the use of portable electronic devices by passengers, contributed to the event.”
Interviews will be carried out with passengers, while data from the aircraft is still being collected.
