Sydney festivals meet Sydney islands

11/10/2008 11:30:00 AM.  | Kelly Fedor
Three of Sydney’s biggest festivals are being combined in a bid to showcase the Harbour Islands next year.

Under the plan, ferries will transport people to islands like Fort Deniston to take part in Sculptures by the Sea, Art and About, and the international food fair.

Deputy Premier Carmel Tebbutt says it's a logical step forward.

“Combining them with our food and art culture is a great way to give the people of Sydney and beyond a chance to experience the islands and it’s also a great way to showcase Sydney.”
