A 14-year-old Australia girl – known as “Sammy Sumo” – has claimed a silver medal at the World Sumo Championships.
Samantha-Jane Stacey finished the runner up in the junior women’s division despite battling with a sprained ankle for five matches.
The Gold Coast girl – who weighs in at 127kg – took home Australia’s first medal of the Championships since 1992.
Samantha-Jane, whose training diet is reportedly based around Weetbix and lasagna, says her size – a great strength in sumo wrestling – is a result of a slow metabolism.
“I’m naturally a big girl. I don’t have to eat anything extra,” she told News Ltd.
