Ringo Starr has 'no time' for fans

13/10/2008 9:45:00 PM.  | Bang Showbiz

Ringo Starr has told fans not to send him any more letters because he has "too much to do."

The former Beatle has warned admirers he will throw away anything sent to him after next Monday (20.10.08).

He said in a video clip on his website: "This is a serious message to everyone watching my update. Peace and love. Peace and love.

"I want to tell you after the 20th of October please do not send fan mail to any address you have. Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October.

"If that is the date on the envelope, it's going to be tossed. I'm warning you with peace and love. I have too much to do. So no more fan mail.

"Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be signed. Nothing. Anyway, peace and love, peace and love."

Earlier this year, Ringo, 68, disappointed loyal fans when he said he rarely returns to his hometown of Liverpool - despite his latest solo album being called 'Liverpool 8' - and seemed disgusted when asked if he would ever move back there.

The remark caused outrage, prompting local people in the northern city to complain to radio stations and write furious blogs

Well, I suspect he is getting a little cantankerous in his old age. It's ok, Ringo. Very few people even remember who you are. Could be this is a reverse psych deal, where you really do want fan mail because you are getting none!! A true entertainer still with all his faculties would not annouce such a thing. They would just hire someone to answer for them. There is more to this than meets the eye. Could it be he is really too busy trying to make a living like the rest of us???
