Sea Eagles fullback Brett Stewart is in danger of withdrawing from Australia’s World Cup squad with a shoulder injury, in the latest injury concern for the reigning champions.
Stewart had a cortisone injection for the injury yesterday, but could still follow Justin Hodges out of the Australian squad.
Matt Cooper has been ruled out as a possible replacement for Hodges because of a groin injury, while other outside backs Jarryd Hayne and Michael Jennings have already committed to Fiji and Tonga, respectively, for this month’s World Cup.
