Salesman worried by trouser snake theft

5/04/2008 7:44:00 PM.  | AAP
A woman stole a 50-centimetre boa constrictor from a pet store by slipping the snake down her pants when the clerk's back was turned.

"I am far less concerned for the person than for the snake," owner Rick Preuss told the Lansing State Journal for a Friday story. The theft was captured on the store's security camera.

He said the snake was worth $US174 ($A189.98).
