The number of young females involved in crime has skyrocketed.
Figures from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics show that about 3600 girls aged between 10 and 17 were linked to crime in 1998.
The Telegraph says in 2007, that figure has ballooned to over 5700, an increase of 58 percent.
Malicious damage, assault, disorderly conduct and shop lifting by girls have steadily risen over the past decade, with poor parenting blamed for the statistical spike.
Local residents and business owners in Glebe say assaults, robberies and vandalism are out of control, and its believed females are largely responsible for the crimes.
