Kids to be taught a lesson in gambling

12/05/2008 7:03:00 AM.  | Victoria Owens
Schools will be expected to teach lessons on the risks of gambling, with young children using the pokies from an early age.

There have long been concerns about children as young as 13 getting involved in underage drinking, smoking and sex but now gambling addictions can be added to the list.

A growing number of children aged 11 to 13 are admitting to having a gambling problem, which has led to a new education program across NSW to be rolled out in primary and high schools.

Anti-gambling lessons will be added to the school curriculum teaching students of the dangers and consequences of gambling in particular poker machines.

I reckon the last federal election is a wonderful example of the perils of gambling .. and losing. As well as the last twenty or so state elections.
