Almost 600 people are feared dead after Typhoon Fengshen tore through the Phillippines.
Phillippines authorities today said landslides, flooding and destructive waves had left at least 224 people dead and 334 missing, mostly in central areas.
The estimates do not include those feared lost after a ferry carrying 747 people sank on Sunday. Only 32 survivors have been found.
Meanwhile evacuation centres are struggling to cope after flooding forced 63,000 people to flee their homes.
