Disgraced former AFL player Wayne Carey and convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby have given the Nine Network a decisive TV ratings win.
The station blitzed its competition on Sunday night thanks largely to 60 Minutes, which featured an exclusive with Carey and his girlfriend Kate Nielsen.
The 60 Minutes program pulled in almost 1.8 million viewers.
Nine's documentary Schapelle Corby: The Hidden Truth was also a hit, with 1.6 million viewers.
The audience for the documentary peaked at an impressive 2.174 million. The second and final part will air on Tuesday night.
With Domestic Blitz and Nine's news also getting about 1.5 million viewers each, the network easily won Sunday night, despite Seven's news being the highest rating show of the night.
Nine finished with a 34.9 per cent viewing share, ahead of Seven with 25.8 per cent and Ten with 18.1 per cent.
Struggling Ten failed to place any programs in the top 10 on Sunday night, while the ABC had two - Wild China and ABC News.
Talk show host Rove McManus had about the same audience as the Jane Austin classic Mansfield Park on the ABC.
Apart from its 6pm news, Seven was boosted by Battle of the Choirs, Gladiators and the US series Grey's Anatomy.
As the ratings battle heats up between Seven and Nine, Seven is ahead by a narrow margin on 0.5 per cent in the survey year to date.
