Child molester Dennis Ferguson on the move

4/07/2008 7:35:00 AM.  |
Convicted pedophile Dennis Ferguson has been moved from his temporary home in southwest Queensland, after local residents had gathered outside the property last night and demanded he leave.

Ferguson had been taken to the rural property near Miles, about 120 kilometres northwest of Dalby, after his release from custody on Tuesday night.

Police say Ferguson has been moved to a location outside the Darling Downs region at his request.

Ferguson was set free after District Court Judge Hugh Botting dismissed child sex charges against him, partly on the grounds that he would not receive a fair trial on new sex charges.

Attorney-General Kerry Shine launched an appeal against the judge's decision, which will be heard on July 22.

This pederast(mongrel) should be locked. The whole system stinks when you have known criminals left to be out in society without being prosecuted for their crimes. What chance have the victims or future victims have when this is continued to be allowed - do away with juries - it's a flawed system anway - the whole system needs a full overhall starting from the corrupt NSW Govt. The law isn't there to protect the innocent only the guilty.

If these animals expect to live amongst people, they should be castrated. Simple as that. These innocent children didn't asked to be molested so why should they have a choice. There is no other way. I wish the government would take a stronger stance on this type of behaviour.

Perhaps Anna Bligh would be happy to have him as a neighbour? Personally i reckon a bullet is the answer! One Bullet, no more reoffending! 100% gaurrantee. If our guv's wont do that, then lock him away for good!Any civil libers who think thats harsh, perhaps you will take him in as your neighbour!

This country has gone insane, and I blame the bleeding-hearted, left-wing, Labor/Greens-voting dimwits who actually believe in rehabilitation for serial sex offenders and the touted "he's done his time" blather. UNBELIEVABLE. This creature is a SERIAL PAEDOPHILE who WILL OFFEND AGAIN 100% gauranteed. Does anyone actually believe he won't reoffend? SACK the judge who let him off his last offence NOW. Throw this sick creature in a cell and lose the key. Down with civil liberatirans.

Rachel I agree with you 110% about this monster but what would the Liberals do differently about this creature....nothing.

Ivo - not so. Labor seats are usually owed to Greens preferences. Labor always has & has to peddle the Greens agenda on civil liberties - that is, "he's done his time" "he's paid his debt", and rehabilitation for serial offenders who show no sign of changing. Liberal policy is to protect society against serial reoffenders of violent crimes by imposing life-sentences. Labor has NEVER supported that & never will. If anyone has ever required a life sentence, Ferguson is it.

Sorry Rachel, I disagree, I think labor and liberal are the same on this issue, and I do vote liberal. I think we all agree that adult 'child sex offenders' should only be given one chance as a mistake can happen once, but a second conviction should see them locked up for life (and I do believe in civil rights). The research is very clear, no cure, no fix, no change, castration doesn't work, and we have to protect children. But there is no governement that has the guts to make this type of law.

Again, I must disagree. You will find 95% of all Liberal MPs and members support locking up serial violent offenders until they expire. They do NOT believe that these creatures should ever have the opportunity to ruin more lives. Labor does. Unfortunately Libs are fought at every level by the Left - be it in the form of civil libertarians (whom I detest), the Greens, Labor, Socialist Alliance, and the miriad other left-wing groups out there who support the rights of offenders over victims.

Rachel if this were the case then why don't we have these laws in NSW. We have had liberal govts here, it hasn't always been labour. The same applies to all other States. If they have a majority, they can bring in the laws...so why don't they? Thats easy, becasue they don't have the guts to make the hard decisions (lab and lib).

Let's not blame the government for this kiddy fiddlers behaviour! He is 100% responsible for his own actions & castration would not stop him! Male animals in the wild that have been castrated still manage an erection & can still do the deed, the only thing missing is the sperm & the ability to produce. Castration will not stop an urge for this animal & others like him. He needs to be beheaded! He even looks the part doesn't he, sad sad excuse for a human!

He his 100% responsible for his actions, but the government are 100% responsible for him wandering around the streets free right now. It is their responsibility alone to introduce laws to keep these repeat child sex offenders in jail, this is not the responsibility of any judge, lawyer or police officer.

If they cannot keep him in freedom, and police his activity, he should be in jail, even if he hadn't committed another crime. Surely jail is cheaper for the taxpayer.

may be he should be housed next to rudd and see how protective he becomes of his family or the minister of police. ferguson should be castrated and put on an remote island to defend for himself without the help of the public he has affected so many families once a phedofile always a phedofile.

Some of the Bali nine are going to be put to death by firing squad and none of the shooters know which one has the proper bullets, well I would be willing to be one of the shooters to get rid of the likes of Dennis Ferguson and I am sure there are thousands of people in Australia who would be willing to join me, these sorts of people deserve no mercy what mercy did they show their innocent victims, we have to protect our children and whatever cost.

as my friend tells me, i dont watch REAL tv, and is it any wonder, she wanted me to post her say so here i am doing so. She wonders why this thing is not put on ST HELENA island. i dont understand why is it that children have no importance in our judicial system, they seem to have less importance than most things. look at the sentences people are given for offenses against children, and compare to that given for other offenses WTF, how about we place our children in higher regard than we do.

if the police minister is so concered about dennis fergusons well being why does'nt she take him to live with her and her family, and it wouldn't cost us TAX PAYERS a $1000 a day to have someone look after him he is just an animal and he should be locked in a cage for ever, and how would the police minister like her children to be sexually abused by him or any other sick preditor.

i have a simple solution for the delemor of what to do with him, a free ticket to bali, a boogie board and a big bag of dope, then a quick annonymous call to the indonesian authorities should do the trick.

We should start a fund raiser to buy the house next door to the judge who let him go free, then Dennis would be his problem not ours, but I can just imagine the outrage and protests if we did that, this is ridiculous just lock the man up he doesn't deserve to be out in society he gave up those rights a long time ago, And congratulations to the woman police officer in Queensland for stiocking up for what is right, she gets my vote for chief of police.
