No one batted an eye at the usual mixed bag of sports people and TV stars that were announced today as the next competitors in Dancing With The Stars. But one person did stand out, Jodi Gordon, the boss’s girlfriend.
And Gordon, who has only recently moved in with Seven network executive Ryan Stokes, is already being marked by online bookies as one of the competitors to beat.
Not that it’s all hard work for the Channel Seven lovebirds who will soon be traveling to Beijing as spectators.
Gordon, who acts in Home and Away, has been getting in lots of extra training so her Olympic holiday doesn’t damage her chances on the reality TV dance fest.
Also on the show will be boxer Danny Green, Olympic swimmer Brooke Hanson and comedian Cal Wilson.
And taking off the judges robes for the show will be the ever popular Red Symonds, so he can strut his stuff as a competitor.
Former Hi-5 star Charli Delaney has already been criticised because of her previous experience as a trained performer but she has shrugged off the broadsides.
“I have danced before, but the producers said there was room for both experiences and non-experienced dancers,” the 28-year-old told News Limited.
“I guess it means the judges will make it harder for me.”
While Seven has announced some of its line up for the show they have not said who will replace former host Daryl Somers. Names in the mix for the plum job are Andrew O’Keefe, Larry Emdur and former contestant Fifi Box.
Sonia Kruger has been confirmed as the show’s effervescent sidekick.
Online bookies Lasseters’ Sportsbook have Charli Delaney out in front to win the series at $3.00, actor and presenter Toni Pearen at $4.00 and Jodi Gordon and Luke Jacobz at $7.00.
Outsiders include Collingwood star Paul Licuria at $26.00 and Red Symonds at $21.00.
