Young Catholics have hit out at Australian Idol star Paulini Curuenavuli accusing her of un-Christian behaviour after she was seen flirting and dancing provocatively at a Kings Cross nightclub on Saturday.
Outraged junior bible-bashers have told News Limited they were confused to see the singer’s antics at the Trademark nightclub after the weekend before she was singing for the Holy Father.
“She was flirting outrageously for such a high-profile singer who talks about her Christianity so much,” said one anonymous goodie two-shoes.
“I saw her singing beautifully for the Pope at WYD08, so I was confused to see her dancing like that up on the podium till the early hours.”
Paulini was one of a few local singers selected to sing for the Pope, performing the event’s anthem Receive The Power alongside Guy Sebastian at the welcome concert and final mass.
The singer apparently arrived at the club at 1.30am on Saturday morning and stayed until 4am.
A spokesperson for the Kings Cross nightspot confirmed the Young Diva singer is a regular who often spends time in the VIP room.
“I think good on her – she’s just having fun,” said a spokesperson.
What the judgemental young Catholics were doing at the nightclub is not clear.
