Fed police seek to extradite NSW woman over hit-and-run

22/08/2008 2:36:00 PM.  | John Barrington
Federal police want to extradite a New South Wales woman, believed responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Canberra.

At about 3:00 this morning authorities found a man lying unconscious with serious head injuries in the middle of a suburban Canberra road.

He was later pronounced dead at the scene, alleged to be the victim of a hit-and-run.

A white Mitsubishi Lancer, believed to be the offending vehicle, was found parked at a residence in Queanbeyan later in the morning, where police took a 40-year-old woman into custody.

Federal Police are now seeking her extradition from New South Wales police, to charge the woman with culpable driving causing death.
