Jim Beam is under pressure to scrap a television ad that jokes about stalking, after complaints it causes distress to victims.
The ad features an attractive woman in a bar talking about stalking a man she broke up with two years earlier.
"A restraining order is just a piece of paper," the woman says as she goes on about her methods of stalking.
Another Jim Beam ad, 'The Neighbours', which shows two girls undressing as neighbours spy on them, has also been pulled.
Alcohol commercials must be responsible, mature and not promote offensive behaviour, according to The Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code.
Jim Beam has said the ads were meant to be funny, appealing to the Australian sense of humour.
But Robyn Cotterell-Jones, executive director of Victims of Crime Assistance League, has told News Limited there is nothing funny about stalking.
"There is nothing amusing or enticing to those who are its victims, who suffer its tragic consequences for the rest of their lives," she said.
Complaints have also led to the websites theneighbours.com.au and thestalker.com.au being shut down.
