Police seize 900 drug smoking pipes

Police have seized almost 900 drug smoking pipes after searching a shop in Sydney's east.

Police searched a tobacconist shop on Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst, at about 7.30pm (AEST) on Friday and found pipes could be used for smoking cannabis and methylamphetamine.

Officers seized 504 ice pipes, 114 water (cannabis) pipes and 279 assorted pipes all stored in boxes in the rear of the shop.

The 39-year-old tobacconist is expected to be charged with possession and supply of ice and cannabis pipes.
