Aristocrat Leisure Ltd has posted a 43.4 per cent fall in first half profit on challenging economic conditions and says it does not expect market conditions to improve this year.
The company reported a net profit of $71.377 million for the six months ended June 30, down from $125.87 million in the prior corresponding half.
The manufacturer, distributor and servicer of gaming machines said the disappointing performance was driven primarily by the impact of economic and regulatory conditions in the group's two largest regions, Australia and North America.
"Market conditions in general are not expected to improve over the balance of the year," it said.
