Young girls using more drugs than boys

29/08/2008 6:10:00 AM.  | Gillian Cannon
New research has revealed more young women and girls in New South Wales are using drugs than their male counterparts.

The Nationwide survey shows five percent of NSW females have tried illicit substances over the last year compared with just over three percent of boys.

The polling has also revealed the state has the highest number of cocaine users in the country.

Meantime Australians are more open-minded when it comes to cannabis, with a majority supporting the legalisation of the drug for medical reasons.

50 percent support regulated heroin injected rooms and 80 percent think the legal drinking age should be lifted.

Well, from the looks of this article I would day the libs have won the day. Little girls getting high...wow! I can see all the pedophiles around the world perking up their ears and packing their bags for the land of oz.

Bet they know all the health risks smoking causes though, none of them would be smoking a cigarette...but dropping a few pills , having a chuff, thats all good for you...lol...worlds gone crazy...billions spent on anti smoking campaigns, hardly a drop in the bucket on illicit drugs and alcohol...the leftys have infiltrated the schools successfully over the last 30 years, we are just beginning to see the results....lol, in your case pithy..the liberals.

where did it say little girls? Susan there is a big anti drug campaign in this state and it has been shown to be of an affect here. maybe other states should follow suit. and drug use has been around longer than 30 yrs wink wink. this pill popping generation needs to be addressed though. the big hauls they are stopping is a good sign. but geezs there must be alot out there. oh and paul, i just think the girls said yes they do, rather than being outdone by them
