Former terrorism suspect and Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef is seeking compensation after all charges against him were dropped by Australian Federal Police.
Dr Haneef is planning to return to Australia but says his arrest and imprisonment has had a large negative impact on his family.
He's seeking compensation for his ordeal and a formal apology from the AFP.
The botched investigation has cost taxpayers around $8 million and saw Dr Haneef kept in limbo for more than a year.
