Symonds booted from one-day squad

Australian allrounder Andrew Symonds will be sent home from Darwin and will not play in the one-day cricket series against Bangladesh.

Cricket Australia (CA) today said the team's leadership group had recommended late last night that Symonds, 33, be sent home.
He will not play in today's first match at TIO Stadium.

A team spokesman would not outline the exact reasons why, but there is speculation the penalty is related to a discipline breach.

It is just over three years since Symonds went on a drinking binge the night before a match against Bangladesh, which earned him a two-game suspension and nearly resulted in him being sent home from the 2005 Ashes tour.

Another disciplinary breach will not go down well with the Australian team given acting captain Michael Clarke spoke just yesterday of the need to never take any opposition team for granted.

Australia's selectors will meet to discuss sending Symonds' replacement to Darwin.

CA will hold a press conference after today's match to discuss Symonds' departure.

Perhaps Symmo was Alledgedly Racially Villified again and was sent home for it as a show of support from the ACB/Cricket Australia? Perhaps he partook in that OTHER Illeagle past time, Had a couple of Beers Too many? No doubt they have some Issue but. Curious this is.

What is the "team's leadership group"? Who are they? What don't they like about Symonds? There appears to be a large clique within the Australian Team!

hey Symmo, come jump the fence and pull on a guernsey for the BRONC'S, Lord knows they need players. On the bright side, you only have to front up 3-4 gays/week. L:eaves plenty of time for FISHING and Beer.
