Coalition member supports Iemma's NSW power sell off

There's more controversy surrounding the Iemma Government's power sale with an Opposition front bencher appearing to support the plan.

Mike Baird is reported to have said the idea has merit just days after Opposition leader Barry O’Farrell rejected the sell-off.

But Mr Baird maintains the Coalition is united.

“Like any process there is robust debate and the Coalition is united on weighing the merits of the proposal against the timing and indeed the management of this State.”

“The Coalition is united in not supporting Morris Iemma and certainly not supporting this plan,” he said.

Mr Baird is correct. The idea has merit, but it is absurd to support the NSW govt as it stumbles from one pork barrel to the next. One bungle to the next. I hope the conservatives will do the responsible thing when they next are in power, as they are doing the responsible thing now.
