Is Kevin Rudd's honeymoon over?

Is the tide of support for Kevin Rudd from the last election turning?

I say that, because one of the great litmus tests of how the public views their PM, has turned in a bad result for Kevin Rudd.

Now take a listen to the audio from the game between the Broncos and the Bulldogs yesterday.

Then the ground’s cameras, switched to Kevin and Wayne Swan, they copped it, they were booed.

Now there’s a bit of anti-Bronco sentiment here, but these fans are in Labor heartland - and they hate the Prime Minister.

Remember when John Howard was booed at a Wallabies game, two years out from the last election?

That to me, was one of the turning points.

Anyway, have a listen and you be the judge.

I was there. It was nothing, he was booed because he was a Broncos fan and nothing else. If you want to make more of it, he got a postive reaction after he gave some people on the bottom deck a wave when someone yelled out to him. Here's a question for Chris Smith, were you at the game or did you watch it on channel 9???

We shouldn't be too tough on poor, sensitive Kevvie. He might get upset! Great story, let's see more balanced journalism! LOL (of course, when Howard was bood it was genuine booing, but when it happens to Rudd its a terrible injustice, mistake etc. Just like when the opposition have internal differences ther are according to Rudd - "divided" but when Lasbor pollies disagree its called "healthy debate"). You lefties really need to get a reality check. Its tough out there, get used to it.

You want more "balanced journalism" - that is, you just want to hear more of what you want to hear? And "unbalanced journalism" being things you dont want to hear?

Henderson (the Brian variety!), "balance" is when the PM of this country gets as much scrutiny as the Opposition Leader. After all, its the PM that is screwing the place up. The opposition are not implementing policy, they are (by definition) "opposing". BTW - get a sensible name...The other Henderson hates people who hide behind silly names!

Goofy Bolton, What Opposition Leader? You have said that Nelson is just keeping the seat warm for? Bishop? Turndulldung? Runawaycrybaby Costello? Even The Mad Monk has been stabbing Brengun in the back lately. Brengun should be addressed as the stand in opposition leader as that is what you, the expert on the Libs, have said he is. Brenguns days are numbered as soon as they find someone, anyone, HELP! We are not talking about the Lib Leadership, we are talking about the Lib Leadership Crisis.

Of course bumbling Brendon gets more scrutiny! He is far more entertaining than gray, drab Kevin. Bumbling Brendon reminds me of the Viz comic character, Roger Irrelevant. The catch phrase for Roger Irrelevant was "Roger Irrelevant, he is completely hat-stand". Bumbling Brendon, HE IS completely hat-stand. From wikipedia-"Roger Irrelevant is utterly detached from reality. He spends his entire time making irrelevant remarks Roger does not have much of a personality and is oblivious to everything"

Don’t know why he was given a honeymoon in the first place. A leopard doesn't change its spots and Labor as usual is serving up the same rubbish that we had to endure from Gough, Hawke and Keating. Roll on the next election.

There is such a thing as a swinging voter. They aren't the sort of people who are usually described as being ditherers between ALP or Conservatives. There are many different distinct types. But all have been hurt by Rudd's inept performance and only the rusted on and paid support the git's alleged policies.

What the hell was he doing at the footie anyway? Is this his attempt at showing us how hes just a common, down to earth bloke at heart, someone you could sit at the pub (or the sleazy strip joint) and have a yarn with? Which spin doctor told him he needed to mix with the plebs a bit more? The same one pushing the "dodgy dagwood dog" into his hand and briefing him on incorrect cricket anecdotes to broaden his appeal with the blue collar demographic he really has nothing but contempt for?

Desmond Harris, if Rudd is the same as his Labor predecessors, why has the Opposition been whingeing about him being a copycat of their own policies? DJ C, Baulkham Hills, at least Rudd's attempt is a bit better than Howard's during the last FIFA World Cup (that image of him in his track suit still disturbs me)

Amy BG- You are too stupid to understand the implications of your own question. It is precisely because Rudd is like his predecessors-which mean that he is an economic minnow-that he has to copy the superior economic policies of the Coalition.

Desmond Harris, if your best argument against my question is that I'm "too stupid to understand the implications" of my question, then I'm really concerned for you. If Rudd is, as you say, "serving up the same rubbish" of former Labor Prime Ministers, then the policies he's allegedly copying from the Opposition must be made of that "same rubbish" too. You're blind enough to have missed that point the first time, and stupid enough that you can't even spell properly.

Amy BG do you remember asking about independent advice .These same right wingers claim the whole world is biased against them.Harris claimed the RBA are puplic servants when the majority of members are the whose who of big business. These men are hardly Labor stooges and show what an irrelevant ignorant man Harris is.

Seems to me that Rudd spends most of Question Time "prosecuting his dictum!"
