Kevin Rudd praises Morris Iemma

5/09/2008 5:10:00 PM.  | AAP
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has praised outgoing NSW Premier Morris Iemma's substantial contribution to public life in NSW over two decades.

"Morris achieved much for NSW, both as a senior minister and premier of Australia's largest state," the prime minister said in a statement.

"Morris put mental health on the national agenda, brought James Hardie to account and made tough decisions for NSW's future in the areas of desalination and energy reform.

"Morris also recently oversaw a highly successful World Youth Day festival."

Mr Rudd said Mr Iemma's ability, work ethic and leadership skills were acknowledged when he replaced Bob Carr as premier in 2005.

"Two years later he delivered Labor a record fourth consecutive four-year term in NSW.

"I wish Morris, Santina and their family all the best for the future."

If morris was so good, why did Kev refuse to be seen with him before the election? These comments from Dudd just prove that you cannot trust a single word the little pixie has to say. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future Kev will follow the same path as Morris.

Krudd truely is just like that annoying little kid that turns up unannounced at your house. You get to the point where you have to hide because he is such an overbearing twit that knocks relentlessly on the door awaiting an answer. His arrogance and self invitation to everything is sickening, he is clearly a narcissist that somehow got to power and enforces his wanton self absorption through his son in law at fairfax and a vindictiveness that has all frightened. Won't be long Rudd-you will be following Morris on to the scrap heap where you belong.

Mr Rudd, Morris Iemma also gave us overly oppressive laws during APEC and World Youth Day, got us on the road to a costly and unecessary desalination plant, failed to deliver on many promised transport projects, mismanaged the NSW economy, and attempted to ignore the will of the people. It was a job well done (if his job description was moving NSW in the wrong direction).

High praise indeed, from one dud to another......lets hope that the people of Australia don't let Rudd do to Australia what Iemma has done to NSW......

Rudd "paises Iemma's achievements!". I suppose driving NSW to bankruptcy would be fairly high on Rudd's list of geat things to do in one's life as a political leader!

Rudd, Iemma a fair comparison? Maybe not just yet, but it won't take that weasil (Rudd) long to ruin Australia. The WA election and the by-elections in Mayo and Lyne say it all about Rudd and his "we're here to help working class Australians" team.

Ajay, I think Rudd spends too much timew "prosecuting his dictum" - maybe that's why he wears glasses, isn't that supposed to make you go blind!
