Metallica has congratulated its fans, one eight-year-old in particular, on their "brand new Metallica YouTube user channel".
The praise came from the band’s drummer, Lars Ulrich, who states it is an open door for those who wish to create their own covers of Metallica songs.
Lars talks about how amazed Metallica are about the quality of performances given by fans on YouTube.
"You guys in YouTube world, country, land, play all of our stuff and look pretty good doing it.
“Some of you guys are sort of slightly embarrassing us with your talent, and dedication, and tenacity."
Lars named and un-shamed the band’s favourite performances who inspire them.
"We are mighty, mighty proud of what you guys do out there.
"It’s so cool and so inspiring and makes us feel so alive and special."
Around 13 videos have been featured on their new user-friendly site in a section called "YouTube Covers Metallica Takeover".
One of the stand-out acts is a little boy who has been praised not only by the site's users but by Metallica as well.
"Robin, the eight-year-old, our new favourite guitar player doing the solo for One."
