A woman was hurled from a car and a man was trapped after a crash on the F3 freeway north of Sydney.
The Holden Commodore station wagon was stuck on a guard rail on the freeway near Wyong, leaving three people injured, police said.
The crash occurred about 2km south of the Sparks Road exit about 11.45am forcing the closure of two of the three northbound lanes and delaying traffic.
The woman, believed to have been a front seat passenger in the vehicle, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to a Sydney hospital, police said.
A man travelling in the rear passenger seat was trapped for about 20 minutes before being freed by Volunteer Rescue Association personnel.
He and the male driver were taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment.
Their conditions are not known at this time.
