New NSW Premier Nathan Rees's cabinet will be sworn-in today, as he looks at ways to address the billion dollar hole in state revenue.

Mr Rees named his new look front bench after a half hour Caucus meeting in Parliament yesterday.

Last night was spent suring up the MPs into new roles.

Among the changes, Eric Roozendaal is tipped to become Treasurer, Joe Tripodi, Finance, and David Campbell will take the reins of the new look transport portfolio.

There are six new faces in the Cabinet, which will be sworn in at Governemnt House today – but a shocked Frank Sartor, was one of yesterday’s high profile casualties.

John Della Bosca has been included despite his involvement in the Iguana nightclub scandal - he's expected to be named health minister.

Mr Rees has told News Limited he’s considering a new wave of public sector job cuts, and a new coal tax to help recoup some of the expected $1 billion in lost revenue.

Opposition Leader Barry O’Farrell says a quarter of ex-premier Morris Iemma's ministry might have changed, but the same people are still calling the shots.

Mr O’Farrell says it's a laughable team.

“The only experience that Eric Roozendaal and Joe Tripodi have with numbers is in making and breaking premiers, as they did three years ago with Iemma and last Friday with Nathan Rees.

“It’s simply providing the public with no confidence about management of the state’s economy.”

A competent, responsible administration would cause comprehensive inquiry into the personal finances of each of these ministers, and their associates, and sequestration of assets unlawfully obtained.

" A competent,Responsible Administration" ? Bloke, this is Government your talking about. Regardless of party, you wont EVER get that. Hell you'd be luckty if you could get that anywhere these days. Polliticians Competent..LOL, Responsible, ROFL........ There is a way to achieve it, Tie ALL pollies wages to Performance, Not SALARY. Each Financial Quarter, review and reward/or sack as the case may be. ..Oh Crap, we'd never have pollies.....Maybe a good thing?

Anthony; don't hold your breath. This new line up is nothing more than "jobs for the corrupt". It is no better than putting Billy the Kid in charge of Treasury and Al Capone to run the finances. In Experience shows already; out of the list on crooks gone; 3 out of the five went on their own. The next election is such a long time away; I really don't know if the NSW economy can last that long.

Is this for bloody real, one incompetent premier goes & all his replacement can come up with is to sack more public servants & raise more taxes.NSW just goes from bad to worse- to think that most people thought things may have improved a little bit----sadly mistaken.

Crime definitely pays it seems, what a bunch of losers. NSW Labor is a Government without direction, avoiding scrutiny and wasting tax payer funds at an alarming rate.
