One of the launch pads for The Dark Knight actor Christian Bale’s career, American Psycho, is set to be made into a Broadway musical.
Initially a book by author Bret Easton Ellis, the story focuses on Wall Street yuppie Patrick Bateman, an obsessive materialist by day, and cold blooded killer by night.
The book was made into a film in 2000, and has since gained a massive cult following.
Both the film and the book caused controversy, with the book containing content featuring Bateman torturing a woman with a rodent.
The Johnson-Roessler Company, The Collective and XYZ Films have joined forces to develop and produce the live stage version of the novel, the companies said.
Details of director, actors, or a release date, have not been confirmed for the Broadway show.
