Man shot in head dies in hospital

A man shot in the head near Geelong has died in hospital.

The 35-year-old man was allegedly shot by a 30-year-old man with an air rifle in a house at Solar Drive, Whittington shortly after 6pm (AEST) on Saturday, after a dispute broke out between the pair.

Police have not yet named the victim.

The alleged shooter was arrested Saturday night and police will speak to him again on Sunday.

Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation at the scene.
