A former Randwick councillor has admitted to having sex with a young girl, after meeting her in an internet chatroom.
John Kenny showed no emotion as he pleaded guilty to having intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.
The 38-year-old met the girl over an internet website in 2003 where, according to court documents, the pair developed a loving and caring relationship.
They agreed to meet in a hotel room in a country NSW town where they had sex several times.
The girl's mother eventually found out about the relationship and police began a covert investigation, later arresting Kenny.
Kenny will be sentenced later this year, on two counts of having intercourse with a child.
