4kg of drugs found in sleeping man’s car

Police have seized more than four kilograms of amphetamines and a pill press after raids in Sydney's northwest.

Around 10.30 yesterday morning police spoke to a man who had been asleep in a car outside a factory unit in Anella Avenue at Castle Hill.

He appeared drug-affected - officers allege during a search of his vehicle they found $300,000 in a briefcase.

The 29-year-old was arrested, and search warrants carried out at the factory and his home in Rouse Hill.

During the raids police allegedly found a pill press and 4.6 kilograms of amphetamines worth $736,000.

Inspector David Miller says it's a surprising result.

“I must say it was very good police work from the police who attended… basically they spoke to a fellow for a short period of time, and after some suspicions arose they made further inquiries and ended up in a very, very good arrest.”

He's been charged with numerous offences including drug supply and will face court today.

Maybe he should have tried some of his own amphetamines, he wouldn't have nodded off then. :)
