Police have released a teenage stabbing victim’s X-rays, which show where attackers plunged a knife into his head.
The 15-year-old British male survived after he was stabbed at a bus stop in November last year.
The Daily Mail reports the teenager and his two friends were attempting to stop a robbery at a south London bus stop, when they were attacked by three people.
The 15-year-old arrived at hospital with the kitchen knife still lodged in his head – doctors say he would have died if it was removed any earlier.
A 17-year-old was arrested a short time after the attack – he will be sentenced next month.
Police are still hunting for the other people responsible.
With a wave of knife crime sweeping through the UK, Detective Constable Scott Albert has warned of the consequences.
"Anyone who carries a knife, risks a heavy jail sentence. The defendant has affected four lives, including his own,” Constable Albert told Sky News.
"Anyone thinking of carrying a knife should be warned by this case. Don't be a statistic. Life is precious."
