Bingle and Clarke deny split after magazine bungle

4/10/2008 3:00:00 PM.  |
Model Lara Bingle and fiance cricket star Michael Clarke have issued a statement saying they are still together, after it was revealed a women's magazine will be publishing a story that their wedding is on hold.

New Idea today mistakenly sent out a press release previewing Monday's edition with the couple on the cover and the headline "Wedding Bombshell - It's Off".

The magazine press release, sent via email, was later recalled. A statement later said the preview was mistakenly sent today and would be issued on Monday.

However, the release prompted a spokesman for Bingle and Clarke to release a statement, saying that the pair were "still very much a couple".

"I can confirm that Michael and Lara have not yet set a wedding date," the spokesman from their management company International Quarterback said.

"Michael and Lara are still very much a couple and Lara will join Michael in India in the very near future.

"Neither of them have made comment to this magazine since their engagement."

Who the hell cares. Just get married and get it over and done with. The things people do for publicity.

Thank goodness I've stopped buying trashy "magazines" over 15 years ago as they were reaching a point to what it's renowned for today and that is bordering beyond tabloid junk and stooping to the same journalistic smear and uncorroborated nonsense instead of quality women's magazines with other publications like Woman's Day, NW, Who, Famous as well as the UK's Sun and US's National Enquirer. The magazine should be renamed No Idea for that very reason as stories are just utter filth and garbage.
